Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains what information Padel Pals collects, why we collect it, and what rights you have over your data. By using the Padel Pals mobile app you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Padel Pals is operated by Ben White, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. "We", "us" and "our" refer to this sole trader.

If anything here is unclear, email [email protected] and we'll come back to you.

Information we collect

The information we collect includes:

  • Account information — a unique Apple ID identifier when you sign in with Apple, plus your display name and (if you share it) your email address.
  • Gameplay data — match results, ratings, tournaments, leagues, box leagues, Americano fixtures and any associated metadata you enter into the app.
  • Payment data — when you pay for a lesson or send a tip, your card or Apple Pay details are handled directly by our payment processor Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. We never see or store card numbers. We do store the Stripe PaymentIntent ID, the amount, the status (succeeded / failed / refunded), a receipt URL, and the purpose of the payment.
  • Device data — push notification tokens (Apple Push Notification Service), crash reports and basic device model information for diagnostics.
  • Usage data — anonymous information about how you interact with the app to help us improve it.

How we use your data

  • To deliver the core app features (match recording, ratings, leagues, tournaments).
  • To process payments for optional tips and (where available) coaching lessons.
  • To send you push notifications you have opted in to, such as match reminders.
  • To prevent fraud and abuse.

Sign in with Apple

Padel Pals uses Sign in with Apple as its authentication method. When you sign in:

  • You can choose whether to share your actual email address or use Apple's private email relay service.
  • We receive a unique identifier that allows us to recognise your account across sessions.
  • We do not have access to your Apple ID password or account details beyond what you explicitly choose to share.
  • You can revoke access at any time through your Apple ID settings.

Who we share data with

We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information. We share limited data with the following service providers, all of whom are bound by their own privacy obligations:

  • Supabase, Inc. — our database and authentication provider. Data is stored in the EU.
  • Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd — payment processing for tips and lessons. See stripe.com/privacy.
  • Apple Inc. — Sign in with Apple and push notification delivery.

We may also disclose your personal information where required by law, to protect the safety, rights or property of Padel Pals, our users, or others, or in connection with a sale, merger or change of control of the business.

Data storage and security

Your match data and profile information are stored in our Supabase database, associated with your unique Sign-in-with-Apple identifier and automatically synchronised across your devices. We use HTTPS/TLS for all traffic, Row Level Security policies on the database, and Stripe's hosted SDK so payment card data never touches our servers (PCI SAQ A scope).

No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, so while we take reasonable precautions we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data retention

  • Account data is kept until you delete your account.
  • Payment records are kept for 6 years to satisfy HMRC record-keeping requirements, even if you delete your account.
  • Server logs are kept for up to 90 days.

Analytics

We may use third-party service providers to monitor and analyse use of the service:

  • Apple App Analytics — Apple's analytics service provides anonymous usage data to help us improve the app. This data is not linked to your identity.
  • Google Analytics (on this website only) — anonymous visitor statistics.

Children's Privacy

Our service does not address anyone under the age of 13 and you must be 18 or over to make a payment through the app. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

Depending on your location you may have rights regarding your personal information, including:

  • The right to access the personal information we hold about you.
  • The right to request correction or deletion of your personal information.
  • The right to restrict or object to our processing of your personal information.
  • The right to data portability.
  • The right to withdraw consent for marketing messages at any time.

You can delete your account at any time via the "Delete Account" option inside the app, which removes all your personal data (subject to the payment-record retention above).

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material change by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this page periodically; continued use of the app after a change means you accept the new policy.
